Description
Designed for projects involving the simultaneous refurbishment of courtyard wrought iron gates and their matching fences. Since the rusting and wear characteristics of moving hardware (hinges, locks, pivots) differ from those of fixed railings, an integrated on-site execution plan is required.
We separately assess the corrosion status of the fixed fencing and the gate’s moving hardware, formulating distinct rust removal and protection strategies. For the main fence structure, we plan rust removal and multi-layer painting processes based on corrosion severity. For hardware like hinges and lock housings, the plan specifies on-site rust removal and lubrication/isolation techniques to prevent paint from bonding moving parts and causing the gate to stick. We provide a comprehensive color scheme, offering options for a unified look or a contrasting design between primary and secondary elements. The plan details on-site masking methods to protect locks and hardware from paint contamination and compares the pros and cons of different work sequences (fence first vs. gate first). Guidelines for post-completion hardware maintenance are included to ensure smooth gate operation.
